Crawling....almost.....

Bailey has almost reached the point of crawling. She gets up on all fours..rocks back and forth, and then falls on her belly. She can "army" crawl really well. I have attached a quick video of her "crawling"...it is so funny! She is also getting around really well in her walker..I attached a new video of her "walking" as well. She is growing fast, and really likes to talk. We think that she has said "mamama" and "dadada" but don't think that she really knows what she is saying. She makes all kinds of noises, and loves to chat with her toys. I know we are going to be in so much trouble when she figures out words..she will definitely be a chatter box. She is still enjoying all of her new foods..we have a lot of fun with her at meal time. She can also feed herself puffs really well now. I have attached another picture of her teeth..you can really see them well now! The other night I emptied a box of Pampers, and Bailey had so much fun with the box...funny the things that they like the most!

Pony Rides and Petting Zoo

This past weekend we went to our friend, Gracie's 4th birthday party. She had pony rides, and a petting zoo. Bailey had so much fin looking at the animals. She got to sit on a pony, and see goats, chickens, bunnies, and sheep. We got some great pictures of her fun! Gracie's little brother, Andrew, seems to really like Bailey. They are so cute together..they hug and love on each other. I have attached a picture of Bailey and Andrew as well.

Bailey is changing more and more every day. She is really starting to make sounds rather than just noises now. Ron and I are pretty sure that she has said "mamamamama" and "dadadada", and we know she says "bababa" which is really funny because we don't feed her with a bottle! She is such a sweet little girl...we count our blessings every day!

I have a Tooth!

Well, Bailey finally got her 1st tooth! She has been working on it for a while now. On Thursday we could see the teeth just under the surface of the gum line. All day we watched, and nothing really happened. She didn't sleep well on Thursday night at all. We were up most of the night, and I couldn't figure out what was wrong. At 2:00 in the morning I don't think my brain was fully functioning or else I would have thought teeth! Friday morning 8/1/08 the left bottom front tooth had broken the surface. We could definitely see it, and feel the little ridges. The right tooth is not far behind. I bet it will be through within the next few days. I haven't been able to snap a good picture yet, but when I do I will be sure to post it!

OK...quick update..the other tooth is through as of 9:30 on 8/3/08! So now our little angel has her two front teeth!

7 Months

Well, Bailey reached her official 7th month on July 23. The doctor said that at 7 months that she could start eating puffs. So..I tried on Saturday, and everyday until she actually turned 7 months. She hated them! She would make some really funny faces, and clamp her mouth shut! It was hilarious. On her official 7th month I tried again...she ate it right away. She opened her mouth, and chewed (or gummed) the puff, and proceeded to eat several more after that. I thought it was just so ironic that she waited until that exact day....

Bailey has this really cool floor blanket that some friends gave to her. We use the blanket all the time for her to play on. One side of the blanket has large colored spots on it. Recently Bailey has realized that they are on the blanket, and I think that she thinks they are toys. She tries to grab them out of the blanket, and will get up on her hands, and then try to eat them. She "talks" to them, and "screams" at them. It is so funny to watch her get frustrated at the spots that wont come out of the blanket.

She is still doing really well with her eating as well. She has liked everything that I have fed her except for peas...she really does not like peas. I have attached a video of her eating. If you listen closely you will hear her saying "mmmmm" once she gets the food in her mouth...so funny! The video is sideways..sorry..I didn't realize that I couldn't rotate the video.

Gaining more independence

So this has been a fun week for Bailey. She has really mastered sitting up on her own. She likes to be able to reach out and grab things without any help.
She is also enjoying the time on her tummy a lot more. We think that it is so funny that she can move around in complete circles, and scoot, but can't crawl just yet. She is almost there.... She is also really enjoying her walker. She can go all over the place on the hardwood floors. She started out slow, but now she is as fast as can be. She seems like she is standing really well in the walker, and can put all her weight on her little legs with no problems. She will walk over to us when we call her which is really cool! Bailey has also found 2 new toys..her toes, and her car seat. She loves to hold onto her toes, and put them into her mouth. Crazy how babies are so flexible. She also has learned that she can play with her car seat when she is not in it. She has fun pulling on and chewing on the straps. Who knew?? The most simple things are the things that they find the most joy in.....

Welcome to Bailey's Blog

Well...I am jumping onto this blogging bandwagon a little late in the game. It seems like this is the best way to keep everyone up to date on Bailey, and how quickly she is growing and changing. She is almost 7 months old now, and she is absolutely amazing. Last week she started to sit up all by herself. It is so funny to watch her now with this new found freedom. She can reach her toys and play with them in a whole new way. She can look at the world face on rather then from her back. Bailey has also become a lot more vocal over the last few weeks. She really likes to "talk" to her toys, and has no reservations about letting the toys, and everyone around her know how she feels. She is such a happy baby--she is constantly smiling and finding new ways to amuse everyone around her. Right now she is about 261/2 inches long and about 16.5 pounds. We wont go back to the doctor for our next well visit until 9 months.

I have attached a few pictures of Bailey. She recently went on her first big trip. She and I flew to Chicago to visit family. She did great on the plane ride, and we had a great time. I'll write again soon.
